IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO USE SYMBOLS
The BIBLICAL Use of Symbolism
When using symbols please remember:
I absolutely cannot stress enough how serious it is to use both the Word of God and the Holy Spirit's total aid in using symbols, types and shadows when interpreting your dreams and the dreams of others. Another thing to consider is that different symbols may mean different things to different people. To dream of a bed for a person who never sleeps can mean restlessness, but to a person who enjoys sleep, it could be a place of rest. All symbols, types, or shadows can be applied in a negative and/or positive way. This precedent is set all throughout the Word of God and should be applied to every dream or interpretation of a dream. PLEASE do not use these symbols for your own dreams or anyone else's dreams with hard fast rules. PLEASE KNOW that this type of practice could lead to serious error for yourself or others. Apply the oil of the Spirit, prayer and the Word of God in focus. If the Lord is talking to anyone about making a change, it is never His will or way to force or manipulate that person into making a change. If that were His intention, He would not have given us a free will. Galatians chapter 5 lists the works of the flesh. One of those FLESHLY works is forcing one's will on another and is called: SORCERY OR WITCHCRAFT. This kind of use of symbols, to get someone to change because it fits another persons desire or agenda, is not acceptable to the Lord.
Also, remember that some dreams are just dreams! The Bible says that we dream some dreams from much activity and many words. (Ecc. 5: 3)
How do you know if a dream is from God? Through prayer, understanding of the Word of God, and relationship with the Lord and other believers as well as patience. Sometimes waiting to see if it comes to pass is the best answer. (Habakkuk 2: 1-3) NEVER make serious life decisions on a dream alone. Make sure you get confirmation from others and from the Word. No man is an island! There is wisdom in the multitude of counselors. (Prov. 11: 14) Listen wisely to your brethren and never act on a whim or impulse. A lot of the dreams we receive are tools in the hand of the Lord to teach us what His Word says figuratively as well as naturally. The entire Bible has rich imagery that is consistent from Genisis to Revelations. The Bible is our standard, not simply what we think or perceive.
I hope and pray that your faith will be strengthened
and you will learn from these symbols to love the Lord and your brothers and
sisters in a greater way!
